Hamilton Street Cafe and Stage was awesome as hell.  We had fun, I'm sure all of those who came out to see us and everybody else that played had fun as well.  If you didn't, we don't know what the hell is wrong with you.

In short, we will not give away a lot of what is happening, but there are going to be a lot of changes done with regards to the band.  Not members or genre or style or anything like that, not at all.  It's going to changes of a different sort and new and awesome stuff.  Just wait and see, it's going to be insane.

More information on the show at hamilton street has been posted.  The bands have been finalized and we are scheduled to go on in the area of 9 PM; right after the Conspirators.   Also, there was hardly anybody at the New Year's Even Show at Shields Skate Park last Friday, but I don't blame them; people had things they had to do.  Otherwise, we had fun, and we played the best we have probably ever played live.  So haha haha haaaha you missed out.  Don't worry though, you can see us coming up on Friday, and we shall rock the living hell out of that Cafe.  Also, pictures of the Shields Skate Park show should be up later tonight if I find the time and energy to do it.  Happy New Year and Ska Forever!

Three new pieces of information: One, New Year's Eve show at Shields Skate Park in Flemington, New Jersey.  This will be going on as far as we know; as long as the township allows them too because they have been messing with the occupancy level.  The show starts at around 8, maybe a little earlier and we are most likely headlining, so we will be going on close to midnight.  So you crazy ska kids should try to lengthen your curfews for New Year's eve.  Second, new show at Hamilton Street Cafe and Stage in Boundbrook, New Jersey on January 7, 2004.  We have tickets for the show, just ask one of the band members for them.  Third, we may have found our new trombone player; his name is simply Billy.  We are trying to coordinate a practice with him and see if wants to join.  Until then we are trombone-less, and it may be that way for the shows...who knows.  That's it for now, we'll keep you updated on anything else that may come up...SKA FOREVER!!!

For those of you loyal Caffeinated fans, you know the trouble we recently went through with Last Band Standing.  IT was a controversey to say the least. We were called all sorts of names by the Senior Class Council, as well as faculty of the school we so graciously attend.  So, you may be asking, how did the protest go?  It went wonderfully well, in fact it went so well that we got a "thank-you" letter from none other than student council president Wayne Janke.  Here goes:

Caffeinated -

It being my last year having the pleasure of coordinating The Last Band Standing, I would like to personally thank you and anyone else involved for damaging ticket sales of our show due to the serious lack of maturity that can be found in your band.  Between all of the rumors that you helped spread through the catacombs of Hunterdon Central, and the trash that you spoke about all of the other bands, it is clear that your pressence in Last Band Standing was not needed based on your level of skill, and based on what kind of people you have proven to be.  I would also like to thank you on behalf of the Senior Class for irreversably damaging the profit we could make as our main fund raiser of the year, sending our class council into panic. We are now looking for additional sources of fund raising.  So please realize your protest and boycott damaged a fund raiser contributing to the senior class and the charities they support.  Personally, I am disgusted because last year, at the 2nd Annual show, I allowed you to open because I thought you deserved a slot.  This year, we were not permitted, by the council, to have an opening band, and you repay me in this way.  I just thought that all of you should know how the "Emo Fest" against Ska bands went.  Everyone who attended had a great time, it just would have been better if there were more people.  And for your information, none of the vice principles had anything to do with the selection of the five bands.  There were nine students in a room, with a supervisor and myself.  I put the CDs in one by one, and played it for two minutes or once five hands went up, creating a majority.  At that point, the CD was removed from the pile without anyone knowing the band name or any of its members.  The process was repeated several times until we had five CDs left, at which point we placed those five names in a hat and drew them out to decide time slots for each show.  That is the only way the bands were chosen, the full, TRUE story.  So next time your offered a chance to participate in a show, and you dont make it, don't be bitter and beleive the rumors you hear, or make up.  Come to the source.  As you may not know, the Last Band Standing will be continued next year by this years Sophomore Class.  Also, I would like to inform you that I will still have an influence in what goes on, as I will be training their class to run a successful show.  Meaning I can advise them of who has created problems in the past, and who has not.  You are currently at the top of my list of problems.  What you would like to do about that is up to you, if you have and questions, concerns, comments, or apoligies my E-mail is ripcurl2802@hotmail.com.

Wayne Janke

Pleasant, isn't it?  I think that it was the nicest letter i personally have received.  Just to let all of you know, we, Caffeinated, won't back down because of an egotistical jerk.  We will continue to speak our mind and make our music the way we want to be.  Therefore, to show our freedom of speech (marching band allusion) please everyone e-mail Mr. Janke to flood his inbox.  Tell him that we aren't sorry, nor do we plan to be.  There were many other bands who protested, but they didn't get any lovely letters.  Please fight for us.

A good deal of stuff has happened in the last month or so.  Where to begin...  Well for starters Nathan has officially quit playing trombone for the band.  And it really wasn't a surprise to me, we all knew it was coming sooner or later because it had come up a couple months ago.  Back then we had decided to figure out how we could keep him and it worked for a little bit.  Now we've realized it just wasn't meant to be and Nathan is off to make music with Out Of Order.  Besides that we did not make it into Last Band Standing because of some stupid school politics.  People are claiming that it wasn't and it was all about talent and whatnot.  Plllleeeeaaaasseee!!  My ears can't take that much bullshit.  Isn't it a little odd when more than half of the bands that made it last years don't make it in this year?  Well in response to that little ordeal we have joined forces with Rising Phoenix, At Any Cost, and Waffle Stompers to throw our own show.  There will be a few other bands and it's looking like it's going to be at Deer Path Park (the stage out there).  When you might ask...November 20th.  That's right an outdoor show on November 20th; this will be the greatest show of all time!!!  Now with all that said we are writing a few more songs and getting ready to record a full-length album and in the meantime we are also looking for a new trombone player.  So if you are a cool person, play the trombone really well, and want to play in a crazy band give us a call/email/im.  I shall catch all of you crazy ska kids on the flip side...Ska Forever!!!

Caffeinated just played the sheilds skatepark show so i decided to evaluate this event.  This show had potential to be the best show ever, and even beat the relay for life show, however, people decided to suck at schedueling.  Ya see, 6 bands were scheduled to play this show and start at 8 oclock.  Thats the first problem.  A show with 6 bands has to start at 6 or 7 or it will go entirely too late.  So the first band began playing at 9 oclock, and got an hour set.  Same with the second band and THEN the people running the show realize, hey, everyones gonna be gone by the time the featured bands (caffeinated, at any cost) get to play.  So they start speeding it up a bit.  Long story short, we went on at near 12 midnight and AAC went on at 1230ish.  Bullshit, i know, and im very sorry to all of the fans and people that came to see us that had to leave before we played.  Thanks a lot for coming anyway.  Mr. Sheilds is going to be doing more shows, and now that he knows more about how they run, the future ones should go smoother.  be sure to ask us about future gigs and keep coming cuz we love u guys like a mother loves a non-deformed baby.  peace.

There was a Caffeinated practice today, and well i feel like writing something on this site...so here goes.

Our juices have been flowing (creative that is...get your minds out of the gutter), and we have been writing new songs like its our job.  So be sure to look for those in the upcoming shows and possibly cd (if i don't jinx it) and all the other yat.

It would really help all of us out if you started to talk up the shields skatepark show, that way we can have a nice crowd of ska kids to start a skankin' pit.

well i hate to be ther bearer of bad news, but school starts in a few days. even though that sucks, thats not the worst of what youre going to hear.

the news is that punch records has backed out of the shields show, and SGR is unable to make it because skouf, who btw i dont like anyway for my own personal reasons, will be away that weekend. it sucks. in addition, static radio is also not going to be there.

so who is going to be there you ask? well caffeinated obviously, is now playing with regal unlimited, at any cost, of fate and chance, and the jaywalkers. the show is still going to be pretty cool i think so come check it out. 8pm-midnight? on september 18th, 2004. thats it. peace!

Hello there ska fans!!! This is your favorite (or not) person with some updates. haha yes within a day there are updates. the big NEWS!!!!

indeed, it was i who had mentioned the possibilities of SGR and streetlight manifesto at the opening. i know youre saying "OK MIKE TAYLOR TOLD US THIS ALREADY". JUST LISTEN THOUGH. unfortunately, its looking like streetlight will not be in attendance. this afternoon, i got a chance to speak with richie knuckles of punch records, who informed that they will be in charge of the musical aspectes of the shields skatepark opening. he told me that in addition to caffeinated, the bands that will be playing are static radio, royal unlimited, and VERY LIKELY, the almighty SGR. yes, the rumors were true. mike and richie pull through with sgr for your listening enjoyment.

anyway we may not have a practice for a few days because i got a cursed blister on a playing finger yesterday at shields because of me being an idiot so i cant play for like a few days til it heals. hopefully we will have some practice time before the show. anyway, thats what you can look forward too. in the meantime, check out shieldsskatepark.com, and look for some streetlight manifesto and big d tickets for the 29th at the starland ballroom. you know you want to. peace out.

Hoy hoy to all out there visiting the web site.  It's been a good summer so far and we, Caffeinated, have done nothing to contribute to it at all.  Surprising huh?  But aside from that, we are trying to get everyone back together for a much needed practice.  I, Taylor, was in Australia for a month through July, Dan was in Israel for way more than a month, I think Peter was somewhere, (don't know where though), and everyone else was pretty much off doing their own thing for awhile.  Now we are all back together, or at least I think so, and we plan to be having a much needed practice in the next couple days.  We also might be recording at a real studio, we have to see if we're ready to and if jeremy's drum teacher will be able to record us.  If you haven't checked out the shows page, we've basically been told that we are playing the grand opening of shields skatepark in Flemington, NJ on Sep. 18.  We'll post the info as we get it from shields himself.  Also you may have heard that SGR and Streetlight Manifesto might be playing the grand opening of the park.  Well they aren't.  I spoke with Mr. Shields today and he told me that the grand opening will be featuring local bands, a shield-a-palooza so to speak.  Lastly I might've told a couple people that I might be redoing the site into a flash site...well that's really hard when one doesn't have any web design skills like myself.  So i'm trying to research and learn by myself how to do it, but it will be done one day.  You'll see, one day...and it will be the greatest site a band has ever had.   MWAHAHAHAHA.  Ok i'm out of here, I shall catch all you dudes and dudettes on the flip side.

Its as simple as this.  Relay for Life was the best show we ever performed.  We finally got a decent set of nearly 45 minutes, the sound guys actually got our levels correct, and even though it was a walk for cancer, there were enough ska loving kids to start a sweet pit.  Not sure what are next show is gonna be, but we will be working on getting lots of gigs so keep checkin the site.  later.

so...im sitting here in modern american literature watching this gay ass thing bout rosa parks or something so i thought id update all of u about caffeinated. We played the HCRHS fest the other day. We're so hardcore that we blew out all the power in like, the school so the took about 10 minutes out of our set to fix it. The school is a big BIG deuchbag and i think were through performing school activities cuz we always get screwed over and their big jerks. In the end we only got to play 4 songs but it was pretty cool playing on an outdoor stage. We're going to be playing "relay for life" at north hunterdon high school (maybe they're cooler then hcrhs) on either june 4th or 6th im not realy sure. Go to that, cure cancer, go to heaven. Ok thats about it for now. Later.

oook, so heres the latest with caffeinated for the few who care...We have been working our asses off rehersing for cabaret at HCHRS which will be held april 30 and may 1.  Weve been playing like every other day after school and every night this upcoming week to get everything perfect so we look good and shit like that.  Id advise u to come see it cuz its gonna be sweet.  Also, caffeinated just invested 320 beans on two 250 watt PA speakers...and taylors rich ass mom bought us a 350 dollar behringer 500 watt powered mixer (thanks taylors mom, your my life)  apparently she wanted to reward taylor for doing some work around the house while she was gone for the week.  In any case, the band is broke, however we have the fucking sweetest PA setup possible for a bunch of poor hooligans.  U can guarentee that were gonna be setting up lots of small local shows at random places soon now that we have the technology to do so.  We also will be working on learing/writing new songs so that we have enough for a full lenght CD that we will be recording in one of a few local studios.  This is gonna be a sweet cd so were gonna be workin on getting that going asap.  Anyway, that covers everything the band has been up to...spread the word biatch.

Yeah this is my first entry on the news page and how ironic is it that I write it at 12:20 AM.  Anyway this weekend started off with high hopes, but of course that went down the tubes.  Why, you may ask...Well we were supposed to play Sharang's party on Saturday but due to some complications and parents getting involved, that didn't really go very well...Cough Cough.  There's a whole long complicated story to this, either ask Joey or me about it.  And to top all that off we were going to make money from it.  I know it's not supposed to be about the money, but it would be nice to make a profit every now and then.  Anyhow, our band needs to start prioritizing more and realizing that there isn't any bullshitting anymore.  And aside from all that we are playing a show/party kind of thing next weekend, but that's a little hush hush.  So keep it on the DL.  I'm gonna go pass out now, leave messages in the guestbook.  Later.

March 22, 2004 - ok let me just let this out in the open. despite the fact that we were uphappy that we were not higher ranked than we were. despite the fact that the rest of my band does not like emo, i would like to credit ucb on sounding good, and rising phoenix on just being plain sick. so were not hateful towards anyone else. well im not. and im all that matters. haha idk but yeah i dont think anyone intends to offend anyone else. yeah thats it.

March 20, 2004 "LAST BAND STANDING"
So tonight was the contest known as "Last Band Standing".  This was for all the fame and fortune of 50 bucks to Dave Phillips.  There was a lot of controversy as to what Caffeinated was doing at this show.  We didnt' know if we were opening or actually playing during the show. It turned out that we were opening.  So after playing 19 minutes of our 20 minute set, we were promptly kicked off stage to make way for the "better" bands.  Bands like, the Stellaphonics (cover band), Union City Blue (emo), Rising Pheonix (metal), 9 to 5 (cover band), Suspyre (metal), and At Any Cost (fucking awesome).  So after our short performance, we watched the others bands, most of which were worse than us, play their sets.  The order of the winners, from last to first.  At Any Cost, 9 to 5, Caffeinated, Rising Pheonix, Suspyre, The Stellaphonics, and Union City Blue. UCB had possibly the worst set during the whole contest, and left immediately after playing to go and cry.  Do i sense bribery?

alright...go caffeine...we did our first live performance the other day at hunterdon central to audition for the Amnesty Benefit Concert.  For our first live performance we fuckin kicked ass.  Apparently all the judges really liked it and im told were almost def. gonna make it.  So thats good news.  Were also opening last band standing this fri. (go to it!) so were gonna rock that up too.  And we're going to audition, live, yet again in a week or two to try to make cabaret...which i hear is challenging but well see.  Um anything else...ah yes...possibility that caffeinated is playing at sharang's "luncheon" which is really just a big party, and also possibly at another party...but we need to keep that on the DL.

AWESOME, caffeinated just got done wit an amazing practice.  We played a few songs with my basement door open which caught the attension of a couple passing hot girls.  We of course invited them in to listen and we played our set for them.  Everything went really well (except for my thumb dying) and they really liked what they heard.  So we all had fun practicing and preforming for our 2 person audience.  It ended up being a very successful practice and we walked away with a couple of new fans and friends.  aww.

February 9, 2004 - ok kids i have one thing to say to you. DIE because you crashed our servers and now you dont have the ability to download music from our site. its your fault. and sorry to those who didnt get any of the free music, but due to the fact that other people were greedy, the songs are now removed from the site. we went over bandwidth...the site didnt load...many issues caused the removal.

im also not sure what jdo wrote the other day. news is that we will be playing at the "last band standing" show at school in mid to late march. we will also be playing at the shields skatepark, when it opens, which should be within in the next few months. next, we are going to be throwing something of a "ska party" at hamilton street. i finally got an e-mail and now i have a contact and were golden. LASTLY, but SURELY not least...i dont think jeremy is completely done with the band. i kind of want him back in but i have to talk to him about some things and jdo about some things too. we will see if i dont mess things up too much haha but oh well. thats it guys. peace out.

February 4, 2004
well folks, yesterday was a bitter sweet day for caffeinated.  We had a horns and jdo practice at my (jdo's) house to finish recording horns for the demo.  We actually completed this and got a good ass 5 song demo out.  Were not gonna be throwin these everywhere because there is still a drum machine in them but its something that we can show people so u can ask to have one if you would like.  So we finally have a demo and were gonna soon be gettin into Frog Studios to record a real full length cd.  This is pretty exciting.  We also are gonna be able to throw an all ska show at Hamilton St. cafe as soon as we think were ready.  So as u can see things have been good.  But, the bitter part of this whole story is that through MUCH talking between the band and EVERYONE IN IT NOT JUST ME we have decided that we need to find a new drummer.  Jeremy is plenty skilled but because of many reasons were being held back by him and its nothing against him, but its just not working.  We now have either dave cifeli or dan jefferson as our drummer but nothings definent yet.  So I'm real sorry it had to come to this Jer...who knows whats gonna happen in the future, but as for now, we gotta say peace.

                       *Jeremy...May 23, 2003-February 3, 2004*

December 29, 2003 -  Here's my first entry.  This is so freakin exciting.  I've never written anything on line before. I wonder if somebody quotes from me will they have to site it and put me on their "Works Cited" pages?  That would be surreal.  Anyway, on with the entry.  Have you ever wondered who Santa Claus was before he became the "man in the red suit"? I mean, jeez, learning how to tame and speak to reindeers just doesn't happen overnight, does it?  I thought I saw Santa Claus once.  Last year on winter break my family decided to drive to Florida.  So, in South Carolina, we saw this dude, with a huge white beard and a huge belly and suspenders driving an RV.  I mean, I thought that he was Santa Claus.  Dudes, it was the coolest thing in my life as of yet.

December 18, 2003 - whoa kids, we have issues...the biggest news TO DATE is there is a show, most likely, on january 11th, 2004, at hamilton street cafe.  we are SO happy because we will be playing our first show and probably will be playing with out of order. yes yes yes. within the time from now until then, we will be trying to practice as much as possible, because we need some material. plus we would just love to record some stuff. because lately the recording has been by just jdo and in his basement, and we want to get to joes of at any cost to record, using some real equiptment.  other than that theres nothing just check the shows page for some information about the upcoming event, also kevin did some clean up and updating and making the site look neat p-p-p-p-p-p-p-p peace.  -mike

October 13,2003 - A couple things. First, it's my birthday.  Second, the format you see here, for the date and then the entry...yeah it's like the way we are going to do it.  And if anyone from the band writes in it in a different font (from now on), their entry WILL be deleted.  I will also find them and yell.  Third, who told Peter he could write in here anyway? Not I. I said simply that I did not know everyones information (for the bios page), and that could they please do it themselves. I didn't think i gave everyone free reign over the site that i actually think belongs to Kevin (this is me being goofy, not being mad at peter to anyone who thought i was pissed haha). Which brings me to number four, and that is, is Kevin in the band? His pic and bio are on the site, but he doesn't do anything. Oh well, he's like my only good friend who's not in the band, so he gets a spot. Lastly, yeah, check out the lyrics page, Phone Bill is there, and 12:45 is done if anyone cares, our first song with some nice horns. Yeah and i like it, too. That's it. peace.     -mike

October 11, 2003 - hello people who are reading this.  this is my first entry cause mike kunka just gave me the password, so il be sure that i write every now and then.  Today was the first killer practice with all the people (except for jeremy).  We are now officially a ska band.  With Nathan on trombone, it adds a nice low tone to the music.  Dan likes to make a lot of improvisations on his trumpet, which sounds awsome. And then you have the two saxaphonists.  What a killer sound those make.  Taylor on the tenor and Marc on the alto sax.  Its just a nice mellow sounding tone to the amazing music that we made today.  well i will talk to you guys later about this band and stuff maybe.

                                                                 Peace,
                                                                   p dot fo

October 9th, 2003 - good news kids, it looks like we may just have found some horns. one definitely, taylor is gonna play sax for us which rips. he said a few days ago that he could and oh sweet. also peter thinks that (or knows that) marc critelli can play sax for us. that would also rip, i know that he is a great player cuz he was in that jazz quartet thing in middle school and taylor plays in mrd and supposedly is awesome. that is cool as hell. and possibly nathan will take some time out of his busy Ox3 schedule to jam, or play, with us. taylor is a definite, we have to see about marc and nathan. besides that we hope to catch you at punchapalooza, and although were not playing, be sure to talk to us if youve got a question. we might not have that many answers but we will sure as hell try. thats it for now, but check back later because we may be getting a show together soon at hamilton street. -mike

Late Sept early Oct- ok, lets see, we need a practice badly but were gonna gte some songs down good and hopefully try to play at some more partys or somthin soon.  I'm (jdo) kinda takin control of the cd creation process.  I have all the recording stuff at my house and i have a much of songs on my comp that are almost ready to be put on a cd so once thats done well probly have another cd for ya.  Except this one will actually be recorded really well and will be much much better then the dinky little demo released some time ago.                         J 2 the Do

September 19, 2003 - ok heres a little more about the goings-on of caffeinated. the last day of summer, we attepmted to play at peters house. we were all having a party and figured it would be cool to play or just jam or whatever so i think we can count that as our first show. alright. anyway we have about 4 more songs now in addition to the original 4, so that makes EIGHT COUNT 'EM EIGHT songs, however a couple dont have words. thats okay, cuz number one, jdo is smart, and number two, peter is singing for us now. we decided this after finding out that i dont have a great voice and jdo is not exactly the man when it comes to vox. so peter is here now to save us (sorry ooo). we plan on getting a number of songs together, maybe like 5 or 6 and record at joe plourdes house, so that our cd sounds good not crappy. on a side note jeremy is playing with joes band AT ANY COST on halloween cuz they need a drummer so all of you buy a ticket and support him. and dont forget to throw around the caffeinated name. ok well i think thats it, plus some other stuff needs to be done so later homies     -mike

August 17, 2003 - hey kidz...there has been a lot going on lately, since whenever it was you were here last...anyway our demo was kind of out, we made a couple copies, but it didnt get much past that, mainly i think cuz we were kind of unhappy with our sound, and kinda put that cd back on the racks. so we started anew, again, for about the 5th time...we decided to keep the songs tho, and weve started developing some new songs, more on the way...however were kinda blanking on whos gonna sing, or whos gonna even write the words for that matter. lotta stuff unsure right now, when we know anything new, about demos, albums, shows, or something at all, it WILL be here. otherwise check out the rest of the site. later. -mike

June 11,2003- Yes ladies and gents, i have resigned from the band. o well. hosay

May 4,2003- Well plans fell apart, so no cd yet..We're going to try to schedule some sessions this week(end). If you want to hear us just fooling around, ask for a copy of our first recordings that jdo did most of. Oh yeah, happy anniversary jdo and jenny, haha, I am such a good person. Later :hosay

May 2,2003- Blah blah blah, blah blah blah. Blah blah, "Blah blah blah?" In other news, we are scheduled for a recording session tomorrow at the big J to the D O's tomorrow. We hope to not get too offtrack and end up chasing fuzzy woodland type creatures with rocks and such this time, we are going to buckle down and actually make some progress. I have a bunch of new songs to learn that germy and jdo wrote while I've been sick and stuff, so that will probably take up most of our time.  Jdo will probably end up recording the guitar instead of me because I probably won't be able to figure out the songs in time. The whole band will be there and expect to finally hear some of our music. Kevykins will be there to take some pictures and maybe record some mpegs if his camera is capable. Hopefully, come Monday, our first batch of test cd's will be done, so just ask for a copy if you want one (I'll keep you posted on that situation). Later. :hosay

April 18,2003- I put up some kev and mack's bios. I also uploaded a shit load of pics while kev sat there asking me if I was done like every minute. Argh. There's not much else to say. Actually, there's nothing else to say besides: later. :hosay

March 31,2003- The new site is up! I know that there's practically no difference between this site and the old one, but we were not able to access the piece of shit so we had to start anew. We're going to try to change the look a little and keep you posted as much as we can. We are actually going to have music and lyrics to put up on the site soon, so expect to see that any time. We are also supposed to be having a practice this Thursday, but i bet Jeremy will cancel at the last minute. Later. :hosay
